Brigada Pagbasa, one of the ten mini-services of 4K [RE]solution, is a literacy teaching service that aims to help the young Aetas of Sitio Haduan become functionally literate and improve their comprehension. It included giving of school materials which the young Aetas can use in the upcoming academic year.

07/20/2022: The Brigada Pagbasa reading sessions started with teaching struggling and non-readers from Kindergarten to Grade 3 and other young Aetas the vowels in the Alphabet using the Aklat Abakada. Most of the learners had a hard time with the lesson but the Rover Scouts integrated some children's songs the learners can sing in between practice reading and gave treats to boost their motivation. The young Aetas were reminded to continue to practice at home with their chosen reading buddy to further enhance their reading skills.

07/25/2022: The reading session started with a review of the vowels in the alphabet to check retention. After ensuring that the young Aetas got familiar with the vowels, the Rover Scouts and Service Volunteers continued the discussion with the consonants, where the children engaged in the reading tutorial and practice readings. The session ended with the young Aetas enjoyingly singing the alphabet song.

08/01/2022: The reading session started with a review of the alphabet, ensuring that the young Aetas got familiar with their sounds. The Rover Scouts continued by teaching the young Aetas how to pronounce simple words using the Marungko method—a method where letters are arranged based on their sound, appropriate for children who have just learned the alphabet. The young Aetas engaged actively throughout the practice reading and enjoyed singing in between reading sessions.

08/08/2022: The reading session this day focused on helping higher grade level Aetas who are good in Filipino reading but have some challenges in English reading (while still assisting young Aetas who are practicing reading in Filipino). The Rover Scouts used the Fuller method—a method used to teach reading in English by developing the learners' phonemic awareness. The young Aetas were able to read simple to slightly complex English words and even learned their definitions and Filipino translations.

As part of the Brigada Pagbasa and Brigada Sining, the Rover Scouts gave school and art materials to the young Aetas.
