Thai scouts grow over a million Andrographis Paniculata plant to fight COVID

Dr. Artorn Chandavimol , President of the Thai Scout Promotion Foundation (TSPF), said that the coronavirus outbreak in Samut Sakhon and other provinces has enabled the Thai government and non-government agencies work together to fight the disease in many ways. Some Thais are refusing to get the COVID vaccine, fearing news reports of some vaccine-related deaths in Norway and Germany. The Thai Scout Foundation has studied reports from the Thai Ministry of Health and many foreign medical institutions. They found that an ancient Thai herb called "Faa Talai Jone" (Andrographis paniculata) can treat primary colds and similar ailments. A group of Thai Scouts grew an experiment 10,000 plants of the ancient “Faa Talai Jone” herb in May 2020 at Long District, Phrae Province. Six month after that, they were able to produce the seeds for further cultivation. In January 2021 thousands of Thai Scouts in Samut Sakhon Province planted more than one million paniculata plants in every sub-district, so that the needy people can collect the Faa Talai Jone leaves for free use as a primary medicine. " COVID vaccine must wait until next year. But the “Faa” herb can be used this year." Report by: Artorn Chandavimol ; Artornc@gmail.com, January 22,2021
