At science express climate action train
Prof. Ashok Kumar Singh, Head, Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, Prof. S. K. Gupta, Dr. Vishwajit Paul and Dr. B. K. Mishra, Faculty, IIT (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, visited the exhibition train and appreciated the efforts of the on-board team. The eminent Professors also briefed the team on ‘Climate Change with respect to Coal Mines and Sustainability’. It was a great learning experience for the team.
SECAS II exhibition was scheduled for three days at Dhanbad. Although on the first day, comparatively lesser number of visitors came to see the exhibition. However, the numbers increased gradually and on the last day, a huge rush was seen at the platform throughout the day. Altogether in three days, more than 38,000 people, including students from 31 different educational institutions visited SECAS II.
Apart from seeing the exhibition, the students and children enthusiastically participated in the activities of JOS Lab, Kids Zone and Platform Activity.
At Dhanbad, on the last day of the halt, SECAS II crossed 6.5 lakh total visitors. 4.5 lakh general visitors and 80,000 students visit.
With this, the three day halt of SECAS II at Dhanbad, came to a successful end and the team packed up and made preparations for their departure to the next station –Barrackpore in West Bengal.
