The project named, Toward Sustainable Sustainability, is the outcome of our rigorous works that we have done since 2018. We tried many times before, but various reasons and lack of time did not allow us to take and work on such project continuously for a longer duration which is necessary to form a strong team and make things happen. Recent pandemic situation, while obviously took away the normal daily lifestyle from everyone including hundreds of thousands of lives, bought us a little bit of free time to think again and do something good for the world. Therefore, Rover Scout Md. Rakib Hasan Shipu along with Rover Scout Nazmus Sakib Tonmoy resurrected their plans they made before and formed a team with some enthusiastic juveniles and named the team, “SENTINEL”. Here is a general overview of how we came up with the tasks we are currently working on. The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. The 17 Goals are all interconnected, and to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030. Our goal, our primary objective, were two. First, we need to identify the core of the social issues. And secondly, fix as many as possible by the simplest way. That made us decide to think and gather data to analyze and find out the principal cause of various social and socioeconomic issues and then to try find a solution that’ll be simple and realistic as well as be able to not just only fix one issue, but in the long run be able to help achieving other SDGs while improving the general situation of different places and people. Even though our objective was to achieve the award but just after we started to think about what to do and how to help people in sectors where they need help, we understood that this operation will go far beyond the award and by time, the desire of helping the community and world will take over the want of the award over time. It was then when we were sure that minimum guidelines of SW award would not be working for us and we shall have to work many more hours than what the syllabus asks for. Most of the governments and organizations which are working to implement SDGs will only be successful temporarily. Because the work that we do out of necessity will not be done by everyone in any community. For example, education is a necessity now. SGD also tries to implement that out of necessity as well. We understand the importance of it. Or do we? The word “we” when used before the word “understand”, usually does not include every human on earth. So, it is more accurate to say that those who have understandability, understand that education is important and try to pursue it. But there are people who do not, and the numbers are not negligible. When we try to do something out of necessity, there will always be a group who’ll not understand the necessity as much as required so doing something only out of necessity means doing that excluding a group of people who are a lot in numbers. Yes, eating food is also a necessity but that’s a whole new level as if you don’t eat you die but if you don’t study, chances are far less that you’ll die only because of not getting educated. Even after that we can see that people, specifically those who have an abundance of food available to them, started to reduce their food consumption below the required level and that can be seen more in the children of this new era. But if only this education and other goals could be implemented as a culture, people would have done those even if they do not understand. Culture is for everyone. Regardless of people’s understandability, they follow their culture. We do not need to care about the people who can understand and the people who have access to that. We need to care about the people who cannot understand these. No matter how hard we try to explain to make them understand, the moment we stop explaining, the level will go low again. This cannot be a true sustainable solution which fades away if you stop pushing it. But we could not find anyone who is trying to implement education as a culture for the other group of people. Unless the core cause is addressed, the final problem will never be truly fixed. That is why it is extremely important to fix issues from the root. So, we decided to start from the outside and reverse engineer the problems, so they are core to understanding them exactly. From our talks with our elders, we learnt many things about the political, cultural, economic, ecological, natural situations and how they evolved for good or became even worse. Now we had our eyes opened and saw things with experience which we took from our elders. This is where we speak about our exact works or what exactly we will do, and we will list them one by one and explain them with a little bit of the reasons and the outcomes of/from them. 1. We will go to places and plant trees and as the project spreads we will Unite more and more people together to plant trees throughout the country and throughout the world and we understood before that this is fairly an easy task but we also understood that not a lot of people do this fairly easy task. and we did not understand why. so, we tried to find out why even after having so many amazing minds around the world they do not see the obvious and common solution for everything. it turns out planting trees is not that easy. especially if you go to the market and want to buy a tree that costs a lot. poor people would never be able to buy 10 trees from marketing if they wanted to do something with them. That is why we came up with our own plan of producing our own trees. The plan goes like EG: a lot of fruits are being eaten and are eaten and the seeds of those fruits just get thrown away. With the blessing of God, we do have a wonderful piece of land here where we can grow a lot of things. so, we do not exactly need to take care of the seeds after we plant them a lot. Yes, if we bland 100 seeds and do not take care of them 90 might not be turning into plants but at least 10 or one will survive an That’s not a bad thing. so, for the previous few months we were collecting seeds from our own homes and the friends of ours and just through them on no open field beside our house. and just after a few weeks hundreds of new plants began to rise which made us extremely happy. we know it takes a little bit longer for the trees to be grown from seeds and to get fruits from them but it happened someday it might take a little bit longer but it does happen someday doesn’t it . so, we chose the piece of land that is the nearest railway line where there is a new road about A kilometer in length which is fairly a new road and does not have a single plant on it. so we took the initiative to plan a few 100 fruit trees and both sides of that Rd so that the entire Rd becomes stable on its own as those that area is prone to flooding every year and trees will stop erosion of that Rd. 2. the second part what we will do is as we travel to the parts of the country and hopefully to other countries we will hold seminars and glasses which would be free for the local people and there we will explain How we did manage the land and what was our idea and how we plan to grow trees and also explain them the necessity of education and how the trees and good food will help them maintaining good health it also will make their water clean and give them affordable energy and how the trees will boost their own economy . In general, we will explain to them what we are just explaining to you. That is how we can let them understand a little bit more about the situation and how to fix situations from our knowledge which we got from our institutional education, but they could not. So basically, we would be taking a part of our institutional education Anne probably increasing its quality a little bit and then delivering it to the people of different communities so that they can use this knowledge and get benefited. 3. This will also lead them to collaborate with each other and make their own companies which will be small but free people will work together without the help of the big companies or the support of anyone else which is of course definitely hard to get . This will also make them responsible for consumption and production and as this would make their own area sustainable our achievement of those goals will also be true. 4. planting more trees is directly connected with climate action as you know it will beautify the water and air a little bit more than before while helping the community in general in achieving other goals as well. 5. we will specially find out the poor people and the widowed women of different areas who are currently living without any support and give them few trees so that they can Take care of them and after probably a few years when they grow up and get through day those poor people can eat them themselves and also sell them to become self-stable . and that goes with the people with disabled children Where if the parents get old there is no one to look for few members of the family. but geez can be a blessing for them as well because once the tree grows up it does not require that much care being taken. So, the sufferings of few families will also get reduced. This is one of our main goals as well. and as we said before it will also help the natural habitat to regrow again And that means the people in poor communities can Have animals that domestic animals which will help them Wednesday grow older by selling them and getting Dairy products from those . so, in general the people of poor communities will be helped a lot. 6. as we travel to different places of the country and hopefully the world, while we plant trees in those places, we will also collect products which are not biodegradable and clean the environment. Basically, we will collect the plastics of different places which pollute the areas and dispose of them accordingly which will allow us to clean places in different places and help us reduce environmental pollution a bit more. As of now these are our primary goals but will not remain Fixed at this place when new necessities come up. As we said before our primary target is not only to work for sustainable development goals but to work for fixing all the situations which need some fixing. The primary topic which we chose from the three of the scouts of the world award is climate but we are not restricted in that field only our project is there to help with achieving the SDG and all the goals of it including the ones which are necessary but aren’t present . Hopefully, we will be successful in what we want to do and help the community and the country in general in reducing the sufferings from all parts of life of all parts of people of all parts of the country.
