"Circle of Ripple Conference"
Mr.Yeshi Dendup, teacher of Chongzhu Primary School, founder of Circle of Ripples who is also Deputy Country Coordinator for IYS (International Youth Society) , scout master, member and volunteer of several other organizations organised 'Circle of Ripples Conference" in Samtse.
According to the organiser, event aims to bring all youth leaders together, address and bring practical solution to the issues in the community through collaboration among youth leaders.
During the event, teachers from various schools in Samtse, Country Coordinators, youth Leaders, volunteers and members of various organizations and college students attended the program.
Few of the important topics discussed were:
1. 17 Sustainable Development Goals/ Global Goals by Mr. Tashi Dawa, SDG Coordinator for RUB and Country Coordinator Team 54 for Climate Change.
2. Jangsem Monday (Meatless Monday) by Local Coordinator Mr. Yeshi Dendup.
3. Culture and Identity by Mr. Yonten teacher of Dorokha CS.
4. Messenger of Peace by Mr. Tshering teacher of Samtse H. S. S.
5. Clean Bhutan by Mr. Nidup Jamtsho.
6. Mom at School by Mr. Yeshi Dendup
7. Bhutan Toilet by Mr. Sonam Norbu
8. Design for Change by Mr. Yeshi Dendup
Moreover, roles and responsibilities, importance of collaboration, upcoming projects and events, youth issues and several other issues were covered.
With support from Jangsem Monday, sponsors and volunteers, tea, refreshments and lunch were served for the participants.
After all, event was life changing lesson for the youths.
