I'm a Global Citizen Webinar Day 04
The fourth day’s webinar ‘I’m a Global Citizen ‘started at sharp 4 pm with a general salute and a scout prayer. ADNR welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest, Madam Mrs. Amelia Swer, International Commissioner (G) BSG India opined that this webinar helps the young people to choose the 17 SDGs and collaborate with the state for carrying out programmes to attain the SDGs.
The Guest Speaker, Ms. Shweta Sinde, Project Assistant, Plastic waste recycling and Management UNDP India for state of Goa categorized the SDGs as Social (SDGs 1 to 6), Economic (SDGs 7 to 11), Environmental (SDGs 12 to 15) and Fostering Peace and Partnership. She also discussed about the UN agencies working in India and the major ministries involved in SDGs implementation, National strategy for achieving SDGs, all 17 SDGs in detail.
The Guest Speaker, Prof Anirudha Deshpande, TPCT’s college of Engineering addressed the participants on Role of Young People in Sustainable Environment and Quality Education. He stressed that the combination of skills and UHV (Universal Human Values) is required to achieve SDGs. He emphasized that solution to all the problems is quality education.
The best part of the webinar is the quiz conducted by Sathyajit Chatterjee through online platform, www.slido.com. Ms. Sharmin Banu M S shared her experience of her journey of her service to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Priyanka Prajapat, Ranger and Young Warrior ambassador urged everyone to be a part of it and explained in detail the need and process to be a Young Warrior and tasks to be undertaken by a Young Warriors. Assistant Director NER proposed the vote of thanks. Though the webinar was for 2.30 hrs, every minute of the webinar was very useful, informative and educative.
