THE GREEN SKILLS CHAMPIONS - KENYA 🏆

The Green Rising Capacity Building Training in Embu Weeks ago, the serene Embu Scouts Centre played host to an impactful capacity building training under The Green Rising initiative, a project spearheaded by the Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) in collaboration with UNICEF. The event brought together scouts and young leaders from across the different counties, united by a shared mission: to take meaningful climate action and champion food security in Kenya. The training focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge and tools to become climate action ambassadors in their communities. Through interactive sessions, participants explored topics such as sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, tree planting, and water resource management. Trainers emphasized the role of young people in addressing climate change and building resilient food systems, especially in rural and marginalized areas. By the end of the workshop, attendees had developed action plans tailored to their local contexts, aimed at promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable livelihoods. The Green Rising project continues to serve as a powerful platform to nurture environmentally conscious leaders and drive grassroots change across the country. This initiative is a testament to the strength of partnerships in achieving sustainable development bringing together youth energy, organizational support, and a commitment to a greener, more food-secure Kenya.
