Day 1 of "I am a Global Citizen" - A Series of Webinar on SDGs

The 7th June 2021, marked the Day 1 of the webinar “I am a Global Citizen”. The whole webinar was smoothly conducted through by Mr. Satyajit Chatterjee and Ms. Ayantika Kundu, the Masters of Ceremony for the day. The welcome address of the inaugural event was presented by Mr. Chandrajit Saikia, SCC, N.F. Railway. The webinar was inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon'ble Minister of Education, Govt. of Assam.

The first speaker for the series of webinar was Mr. Madhusudan A.S who provided the participants with the outline of the “Scouts for SDGs” initiative, its objectives and components. The overview provided by Mr. Madhusudan, laid foundation to the what and how we as Scouts can contribute to the goals/targets of the SDGs.

The event was also graced by guests from all around the country – Mr. M.A. Khalid, Addl. CNC, Mr. A.K. Absar Hazarika, SCC Assam. They wished for the success of the Webinar series and also encouraged the Scouts and Guides to think about how one can contribute to furthering the SDGs.

The event came to a close after an interesting quiz conducted by the organising team with the Vote of Thanks presented by Ms. Darshana Pawashkar, JD(G). Overall, the first day was a grand success with enthusiasm and overwhelming participation from participants from all over the country.
