World Water Day 2016 World Water Day is celebrated every year on 22nd March by the people across the globe. United Nations declared this day as a World Day for Water to be celebrated on 22nd of March each year to increase the awareness among the people about the importance, need and conservation of water. Today we are facing tremendous water problems. We do not have enough drinking water. To aware people about the importance, need and conservation of water a rally was organized at Collectorate office, Amravati, Maharashtra, India. District Collector Shri Kiran Gitte inaugurated the rally. Rally started from collectorate office, Amravati to Irwin square, Amravati. 300 students including scouts and guides from Podar International School, Amravati participated in the rally. D.O.C. Scout Prajakt Jamkar, D.O.C. Guide Vaishali Aaware, Principal of Podar International School Shri Sudhir Mahajan and teaching staff of school participated in the rally and inspired the students for conservation of water through their speech. Teaching staff of school presented a skit on water conservation in the rally. District Collector Shri Kiran Gitte distributed pamphlets about water conservation to students for distribution to people for their awareness.
