World Environment Day 2016 Narrative Report Registration started at 6:00-7:00 am. Boy Scouts, Senior Scouts, Scouters, guests and stakeholders participated in the World Environment Day 2016 held at Angono Lakeside Park on June 5, 2016. The program started with a prayer led by Sctr. Ruth C. Javier, AMUSCOM Secretary, and teacher at Angono National High School. Sctr. Janu Adrian A. Reyes of Angono National High School led the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Sctr. Gerald Gil G. Reyes, BSP Secondary District Coordinator, from Angono National High School led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Rededication to Scout Oath and Law was led by Sctr. Ulysses U. Samson, AMUSCOM 2nd Vice Chairman, and teacher at Angono National High School. The delegates of the event were presented by Sctr. Nicanor G. Viclar II of Carlos Botong Francisco Memorial National High School, the master of ceremony. Dr. Maribeth R. De Dios, our District Commissioner, gave her warm welcome remarks to all the participants of the World Environment Day. Sctr. Amado Victor U. Saguinsin, chairman of Angono Municipal Scouting Committee (AMUSCOM) also gave his welcome remarks. A dance number about the environment was presented by selected students from Regional Lead School for the Arts in Angono. The title of the music was “Magkaugnay” by Joey Ayala. Our School’s Division Superintendent and Council Scouting Commissioner, Dr. Marites A. Ibañez gave her meaningful and very timely message about taking part in the scouting programs especially in taking care of the environment. Councilor Jerimae Calderon represented Hon. Mayor Gerry V. Calderon who would like to extend his gratitude to the scouting movement of Rizal for having a program such as the World Environment Day which aims to promote awareness about the environment and at the same time have the heart to preserve it by planting more trees and involving in the clean up drives. Mr. William De Lumley of Lafarge assured everyone about the support of his group to the scouting movement, most especially the projects that involve in the preservation of our natural resources and making our environment clean and green. Sctr. Edgar Fernan Dieta from the National Office also gave his support to the scouting projects such as the World Environment Day which gives awareness to everyone to clean the surroundings and start planting trees. After the opening ceremonies, it was followed by the Tree Growing Activity.
