"We Care" Donation project ; SEN class donation

The Special Educational Needs (S.E.N) classes in Imaaduddin School, Male', are the only classes in Maldives that accomodates children with different special needs and disabilities in the country. These Classes in Imaduddin School have 18 specialized and trainned proffessional teachers to teach and look after 58 Special Needs students. SEN classes in Imaduddin School include children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral palsy and Learning disability. Rovers of 23rd Male' Scout Group, as part of their first "We Care Donations Project" collected Soft Toys, Play things, books and other useful educational materials from well wishers and on 28th February 2013 donated these items to the SEN Class as part of the Rover Crew's community commitment. *** "We will always treasure the moment, the happy moment, the many smillies and joyful faces, when our Rovers gave the kids, the big brown wrapped gift parcel. We found ourselves in tears when a student from the SEN class gave a speach at the small ceremony we held to hand over the gifts/donations. The girl from SEN class appreciated Scouts and our Crew for thinking about them and for giving them useful things. She said she will always be greatful for what we did for her. True satisfaction of what we do as volunteers and what we really achieve is not measured ... But her speach was enough to make us realize the importance of what we do as Scouts and as Volunteers. Perhapse one of the few really happy and proud moments in my life.***The "We Care Donations Project" will be an on going project by the 23rd Male', Rover Crew, that will identify needs, specially targeting special needs children and by showing that "We Care" and "we can make a difference".
