SPECIAL NATIONAL ROVER / RANGER MOOT MANGALURU. KARNATAKA.
 

From 28-12-2017 to 01-01-2018 participated in the SPECIAL NATIONAL ROVER / RANGER MOOT to Commemorate the Birth Centenary Celebration of Sri V P Deenadayalu Naidu (Former National Commissioner, BSG) held at St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, Karnataka state. INDIA.
This coastal city hosted the 67th National level Rovers and Rangers moot that got underway at St Aloysius Primary School premises at Kodialbail from December 28. Around 1,000 Rangers and Rovers from across India were maked Namma Kudla their home up to January 1, 2018 in the moot that will payed tribute to V P Deenadayalu Naidu, freedom fighter, former national commissioner, Bharath Scouts and Guides, as also the mayor of Bengaluru.

U Gopalakrishna Bhat, district secretary said Karnataka is hosting the moot for second time after Kondajji in Davangere district four years ago and will see Rovers and Rangers, recipients of Rajya Puraskar awards, accompanied by their Rover and Ranger leaders, attend the event. The moot was seen dedication of four new ranger units to mark centenary celebration of Rovering and this includes one air Rovering and Ranger units, one Rover unit and one open guide unit.

Noting that Rangers and Rovers are college students in the age-group of 17 to 24 years, Bhat said delegates will be divided in to three equal groups. While one group will embark on coastal trekking at Tannirbhavi after crossing the Phalguni in a ferry at Sulthan Batheri, the other will go for nature study at Dr Shivaraman Karantha Pilikula Nisargadhama and the third will stay at base camp to take part in trainings in four different modules. The groups will alternate this routine.

Rama Shesha Shetty, district commissioner, Scouts said B Ramanath Rai, district minister will inaugurate the moot on December 28. U T Khader, minister will preside over valedictory function on December 31. Mayor Kavitha Sanil will declare grand campfire open the same night. Sasikanth Senthil, DC will inaugurate 4 new units on January 1 at 7.45am. Murali Mohan Choontharu, commandant, DK district homeguards will inaugurate the route march at 9am.
All states rovers and rangers enjoyed camp with delightfully with nature study , costal trekking , guttinamanea a house (reflection of tulu culture) and Free being me concept of scout for creating better world. Over all this camp remains very memorable for all. All does Swachh Bharat cleanliness campaign across the roads of manglore city.
