SOIL CHALLENGE WORKSHOP IN AN ELEMENTAQRY SCHOOL

We made a successful workshop with UN FAO YUNGA PROGRAM. Teached young children on the importance of soil İn this program Each activity has a specific learning objective, but in addition to this, children will also be expected to learn more general skills İncluding Teamwork, Imagination and creativity Observation skills environmental awareness Numeracy and literacy skills: Activities arranged in 5 sections titled All about Soil, Soil Uses, Soil at risk and Take action. Each section have about at least 12 activity arranged for age groups 5-10, 16-15 and over 15. We also use given information as posters to be shown in activies. Action starts with introduction of our parent organization TEMA . and Children see small exhibitions with posters 1 posters for international Year of Soil 2 soil related children paintings . Mostly from United Nations Children painting competitions. The yare useful ,informative training material. Program follows with some games We have two information games (1) Food chain . İt İs a string ball throwing game between scildren . At start each person assigned an animal with position on food chain (2) The other game is Animal Class where each children asks questions to find what animal is s/he and getting yes/no answers. (3) We gave another game to show how shall the edible areas for 7 billion people on earth and What will happen in 2030 (4) His is not a game but another activity on Earth Charter. We five phrases on A4 paper and have a series photos Now we have selected activity workshops at least two from each section and run the activity A.01 – 03, B05-06, C.02 – 8 – 13. D.05 – 09 carried out The yare reminded if they do more. They will have another award at the end of educational year
