Rover Scout Expedition of Kota Malacca

After a few months of lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic, I noticed that rover scouts are getting passive and less energetic. As the leader of district, I take the challenge to organized and conduct a expedition for rover scout to keep motivating them so that they can pick up their interest in scouting. The purpose of this program is to let the qualified rover scout complete their expedition badge and get a step closer to reach B-P Award.

The Malacca Kota Rovers Expedition was conducted at Georgetown, Penang. This expedition took 3 days 2 nights to complete more than 1000km of journey. The rover scouts were required to plan out their own meals, pack their own haversack, practice navigation and planning their way to the location from Malacca city by taking public transport. During the expedition, they were monitored by 10 Assistant District Commissioners who assist to scout the path and ensure the safety of the trail.

There is a total of 20 rovers scout participated in the expedition in order for them to complete Expedition Badge. The module of the expedition is planned according to the scheme provided by Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia. During expedition, the participants also doing community service at the same time to link local efforts to global actions. They also focus on community development and environmental education to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

All the participant successfully completed the expedition. This expedition gave me a tremendous effect in the part of wellbeing and mental because we have to stay positive in certain condition so that we can finish this expedition. As a scout we need to be trained and motivated regardless in any situation so that we are able to face new challenges in our scouting life. This will help us to look forward and unlocked new achievements.
