Road Safety for All | Traffic Volunteers

I observe peoples activities on streets/roads such as (zebra crossing on red pedestrian light, stopping vehicle in the middle of roads, changing lane without side light, breaking traffic signals and many more). The thing that makes me curious is why the people are not aware of road safety which could lead them to loss of life.
As being a social activist and member of Nepal Scouts, there was "Traffic volunteer mobilization campaign". Before going to the field we had an orientation program facilitated by Traffic Police Inspector about the necessary information. Scouts were mobilized at 15 different Hotspot locations of valley where usually there are big traffic flows in and out. These project took place in two phases with an aim to aware people about the road safety.
The project ended with the effectiveness of these campaign as we could see how people had become aware in comparison to first phases. After a long service duration we could see a huge changes in activity of people such as using overhead-bridge to cross roads, watching pedestrian signal on zebra crossing, following traffic signals, etc. We also suggested traffic signals in needy areas during a report. Similarly, number of road accidents have been decreased which is an positive sign.
Being a responsible citizen of the nation we should always follow rules and regulation in the country. Roads are the common/easiest means of transportation so we should be much aware about the traffic rules while travelling. I always look up for vehicle both left and right side while crossing, Do You?
