RENOVATING THE DAMAGED ROOF FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN
When I visit Katunayake high school for various scouts’ events in the Negombo district I noticed that the roof of this building has been decaying and damaged and the interior of the building was trapped with rainwater. So, I thought of doing something to re-construct the roof of this building and I discuss this idea with my badge examiner.
As a scout, I identified the need of providing a pleasant environment to do the studies for students of Katunayake high school and providing mental relaxation for both teachers and students to conduct their work well. The students here are children of low-income families who couldn't afford for children's needs in education. So, to give relief to the parents of those students and help them to create equality in society I decide to conduct this project.
Mainly what I focus on from this project is to give these students a quality education same as the other children in the society and give them a chance to achieve their future goals and be a good person for the family and to the society.
In conducting this project, I was able to improve my leadership qualities while developing my organizing skills and improving decision-making skills. Also, this helps me to accept the challenges to face them perfectly.
Further, to complete this project successfully my beloved parents, relatives, and my fellow scouts helps me a lot and they cheer up me to the very end. More than 180 beneficiaries from this project.
