RAROFS Fruitful Future: Growing with Purpose
Inspired by the need to address hunger, malnutrition, and deforestation, the Scouts of Ramon Adriano R. Orozco Farm School initiated RAROFS Fruitful Future: Growing with Purpose. Their goal was to create a sustainable food source for the school and surrounding community by planting fruit-bearing trees. The Scouts believe that through youth engagement and environmental action, they could contribute to a healthier planet and more resilient future.
On June 30, 2025, a total of 66 participants including 30 Scouts, and 35 volunteers from SSLG, YES-O, GSP, and YCAPC, gathered at Ramon Adriano R. Orozco Farm School. Guided by their adult leader, they planted jackfruit, rambutan and marang trees around the school perimeter. The seedlings were provided by the Department of Agriculture, and the activity benefited 400 community members by promoting food sustainability and biodiversity.
Through this project, the Scouts learned the value of teamwork, leadership, and environmental stewardship. Despite the physical challenges, they remained committed to their mission. The experience deepened their understanding of the Scout Oath and Law - being helpful, trustworthy and reverent to nature. Most importantly, they saw how youth-led initiatives can create real impact in building a greener, healthier community.
