Oltalet child support visit

Many times, young girls drop out of school due to menstruation, be it due to lack of clean sanitization or facing stigma from peers and the. We took the task upon ourselves to educate and enlighten the individuals in kajiado and also provide sanitary pads to those that are less likely to afford them so as to help them enjoy their monthly flow with dignity. We offered menstrual talks for both genders so as to normalise menstruation. This encourages girls to stay in school without being shy.
First, we went in search of a more vulnerable location, by this, we targeted institutions, e.g the children's home or support centres and by this, with the help of the Dedan Kimathi foundation, we came across Oltalet children's home and support centre. We offered menstrual health talks and interacted with everyone through various playful activities just to make them comfortable and familiar
By the end of the day, the women and young girls had learnt a lot about menstruation hygiene. they also got gifts for interacting and answering period-related questions and most importantly, they got to enjoy the free pads that G.A.P. had delivered to them.
It never hurts to be kind and help people in vulnerable situations. It's always satisfying to see a smile from someone you never expected at the end of the day.
