MAYABMOOT 2020: La leyenda volverá

Create a once-in-a-lifetime outdoor living experience, on a journey through the different ecosystems of the Mayab lands to learn about and value the cultural and architectural aspects of pre-Hispanic civilizations in Mexico; In addition, they will test their physical performance, their abilities and skills acquired in their scout life, in an environment of global brotherhood and respect for nature, where they will put into practice their attitude of service in a Mayan community.
The wave of COVID-19 in Mexico did not allow us to hold our event safely, so in August 2020 we followed the recommendations issued by our NSO and the federal government, which suggested that events like ours be canceled until further notice. However, the project remains useful with solid foundations to resume when the pandemic allows us to carry out this great adventure, with an outstanding work of more than 9 months, with a national team in various regions of the national territory.
The planned impact of this project is still active to be executed, with a capacity of more than 200 participants from our NSO or WOSM. With a program that takes place in Mexico, throughout the Yucatan Peninsula, which is made up of the enigmatic states of Yucatan, Campeche and Quintana Roo. Especially, the participants will serve in the community of Conhuas, Campeche as part of the human growth that we seek to generate in the participants. 10 days to remember forever.
The arrival of 2020 marked the beginning of new opportunities for all of us to renew our commitment by living a story full of adventures, good times and new friendships. Scouts were no exception, renewing ourselves to safeguard the health and well-being of all Mexican scouts. I hope that the situation due to the pandemic will allow us in the near future to bring this adventure to the young people of our country, for now we must take care of ourselves and be prepared.
