Launch of the Scout Education Program for Food Production

The Scout Federation of the Democratic Republic of Congo is launching the Scout Education Program for Food Production with its first sub-program "Mushroom Production". This program started with the establishment of the team of national trainers. In partnership with the NGO Waheli, national trainer candidates started a 2-month internship on mushroom production, agricultural project management, ethics and the protection of children "safe from abuse" since the 20th of March 2019. At the end of the internship, they will be responsible for supporting Scout groups to set up local mushroom production units. The "Mushroom production" sub-program will be followed by other sub-programs, notably "Rabbit production", "Quail production", ... Scouts and non-scouts are associated at all levels to make the program a success.
