The Lake region shares the Messengers of Peace Inspiration

Scouting for Hope Kenya was able to bring together 65 young people hailing from the Lake Region of Kenya to be trained as coordinators of the Messengers of Peace program. The Scouts who were gathered in Kisii rehabilitation Centre for three days were inspired with not only the Messengers of Peace program but the entire Better World Framework. In an effort to continuously spread and grow the network the scouts from Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Nyamira and Kisii County came together and shared in the inspiration while pledging to do even much more at grass root level. This scouts who have been involved continuously in community service framework were inspired more as they discovered platforms like the SDG Hub, the Scout.org that contained working frameworks that they had all been involved in even without knowing. ‘’ I never knew that I could help support the world by working on the SDG’S from right where I am’’, Said Sharon Kisiak, A rover from Kisii County. The training was aimed at creating 65 new coordinators who could take the Messengers of Peace inspiration to the grass root level in the Sub-counties increasing the social impact of scouting as well as growing the network. The coordinators pledged to share their new found knowledge especially with Venture scouts who were in High schools in order to start growing the future network early enough.
