"International Peace Day Celebration at Trashigang" - Spreading the message of peace"
682 Scouts, Adult Leaders and Teachers of Bartsham Middle Secondary School, Trashigang, a District in eastern Bhutan celebrated International Peace Day by making origami Doves and Cranes.
One whole day was spent for preparatory works for the big day in the school. The origami doves and cranes were made in the school assembly courtyard on 20th September. Scouts were taught the art of origami with the help of the Adult Leader who demonstrated the art to the Scouts. Scouts and Adult leaders worked from 8:00 Am till 5:00 PM on 20th September -21st September.
The paper doves and cranes were hung in the school courtyard with designs and peace messages. Peace symbol was hung along the cranes and doves making it a beautiful sight for everyone to look at.
Speeches on peace and messenger of peace were delivered on the day to create awareness among non-scouts. The event inspired hundreds of non-scouts. The day was also utilized for creating profiles in scout.org.
