INDONESIA PEACE BORDER CAMP 2020

Currently, Indonesia has some focus for developing area with 3T (Tertinggal , Terluar, Terdepan – Remote & border area). There are many issues to be solved in order to creating a better Natuna as one of border area in Indonesia, such as; education, public facilities, people empowerment and so on. In addition, there is a political conflict happened in Natuna (Indonesia – China) couple months ago, it’s because there is one China ship that enter the territorial area of Indonesia without permit. Moreover, regarding today’s global issue about Corona virus, Natuna as the island which rare to be touched before, has been appointed as the observation area for Indonesia citien from Wuhan for 14 days before they are coming back to their family. It makes Natuna as the center of attention in Indonesia because of the mentioned issue.

As one of the big organization in Indonesia, Gerakan Pramuka with Messengers of Peace has initiates to held one event which containing youth empowerment namely Indonesia Peace Border Camp (IPBC) 2020.

This event has been conducted in Ranai, Natuna, Indonesia in collaboration with Natuna Sub-Provincial Headquarter also local governments. IPBC has been followed by 57 participants for 4 days with several activities, such as; indoor activity (Introduction of Messenger of Peace, how to contribute towards global peace – scout.org, How to apply project, how to deliver news and info with storytelling skills, Scout-preneurship, sharing session, etc.,), outdoor activity (MoP module, charity, re-coloring the public facility, tree planting, etc).

At this time, we have 57 new MoP border coordinators to maintain the sustainable activity in Natuna, to empower more youth to become an active global citizen, the future mangrove forest and small mosque for people in Ranai to pray.
