Helping the Community in Paddy Weeding.

As a Scout leader initiated the project. This was to provide hands on experience to the young people the scouters, so as to help the community in labor force.
The project was carried out in an village in called Rinchenphu under Yoeseltse Gewog, Samtse Dzongkhag. All the Nazhoen scouts (class 7 to 10) and school leaders were involved. We started in the morning till afternoon. After completion of the project we had lunch there at the project site and went to respective home much satisfaction smile on our faces. The owner too were very happy and they provided us with a wonderful refreshment of juices and mineral water.
The participants were benefited with skills and knowledge in weeding of paddy. They can apply what they have learnt back in their locality and at home too. A large area of about 3.5 acres of paddy was weeded. There were about 20 owners of the said field. The weeding took about 6 hours to complete by the scouts. If it has to be done by the owners themselves, it would cost more and would take some days to complete. Its a humanity help from our side. Happy Scouting.
The participants got skills in how to do weeding and take care of the paddy plants. It was done on a Sunday on which the school was off. This was clear that the scouts were involved meaningfully. What they learnt from this project, it would help them to implement in future in their respective locality.
