Green Hands, Growing Futures

Inspired by the need to create and sustain green spaces in our community. In a crowded city like Navotas, we wanted to show that even small areas can become productive gardens that promote food security, environmental care, and teamwork among Scouts and residents.
The Navotas Coucil and BSP National Headquarter organized the Scouts into rotating teams responsible for maintaining the community vegetable garden. Each group handled specific tasks such as weeding, watering, composting, pest control, and harvesting. Regular visits ensured the garden stayed active and healthy. Along the way, Scouts learned about organic gardening, urban farming, and environmental care, turning each visit into both a service and a learning experience.
Scouts learned that caring for the environment requires consistency, teamwork, and patience. Through this project, we discovered how small actions—like watering plants or managing waste—can create a big impact on the community. We also realized the importance of responsibility, cooperation, and the value of working together to keep our green spaces alive and sustainable. #GreenRising #Scouts #ScoutsforSDG
