*J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, Ganderbal celebrate Foundation cum Flag day; Felicitates best Scouting services during the year* Ganderbal, Nov 07: The J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, Ganderbal celebrated it's National Foundation cum Flag day in the Mini Secretariat Conference Hall here today. The day long programme was divided into two sessions. The first session (pre-lunch session) was chaired by the worthy President, J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides, district Ganderbal, Mr. Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar (Hon'ble MLA Ganderbal). State Chief Commissioner, J&K SBS&G, Er. N. A Khan, S. O. C, Muzaffar Ahmad Tramboo, Vice President, Ganderbal Mohd Afzal Sheikh (Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal), District Headquarter Commissioner, Dr. Hartej Singh (Principal GCOPE), N. A. Dar (Principal J&K Sainik School, Manasbal) along with large number of male and female teachers from Education Department and the Department of Youth Services and Sports attended the programme. On this occasion, District President J&K SBS&G, Ganderbal, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar gifted and handed over the brand new Laptop along with printer and other accessories given out of his CDF, to the office bearers of the district Ganderbal unit. Mr. N. A. Dar was also inducted and given oath as Vice President of the J&K SBS&G, Ganderbal to fill in the vacancy created after the transfer of previous officer. In the post-lunch session, the function was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS (Senior Vice President, J&K SBS&G, Ganderbal). The session was attended by Sr. Superintendent of Police, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Lone (SPS), Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Mr. Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari (KAS) and other dignitaries and guests. SSP Ganderbal and ADC Ganderbal were honoured and inducted in the J&K SBS&G, Ganderbal unit as Vice President and the Zonal Commissioner, Ganderbal respectively. Impressed by the motto and the activities of the J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides, SSP and ADC after taking oath, spoke about various aspects of serving humanity. They promised and ensured that they'll do their best to strengthen and flourish Scouting movement in the district. The Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal (Sr. Vice President) expressed joy and enthusiasm for being a part of the Scouting movement in the district. In this session, teachers present there were given detailed information about Scouting and they were asked to prepare Scouting units in their respective schools and institutions. On the concluding function, the Scouts, Guides, Rangers, Rovers were felicitated with Certificates for rendering their best services during the year which includes social services discharged during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Cleanliness Drive from Sonamarg to Baltal and cleanliness drive at Ganderbal. The Governor Awardees of the year were also felicitated during the occasion.
