The J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides Jammu, celebrated “International Day of Girl”, under the theme “Girls Role in Achieving the Global Goals for Sustainable Development and Creating a better world” on 14th October 2016 in the hall of most prestigious Shri. Guru Govbind Singh Hr. Sec. School Kunjawni Jammu in which about 200 Guides, Guiders and heads of various Institution participated. Most Venerated Mtr. Ashiea Naqash, Minister for state Housing & Urban Development, health & Medical Education, Social Welfare Department was the Chief Guest on the Occasion. Guides also approached dignitaries, VIPs, friends, Neighbors, high officials and gracious supporters. Smt. Charanjeet Kour, Administrator of Shri. Guru Gobind Singh Hr. Sec. School Khunjawani welcomed all the dignitaries, the guests and other participants. She gave a brief report of the importance of this day as it is the day of introspection for all connected with the movement. Some Guides and Guiders also spoke on the importance of this auspicious day and it was followed by different cultural programmes. Ashiea Naqash, Minister for State Housing & Urban Development, Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare Department, blessed Guides and appreciated the steps being taken to spread the message of this noble movement to every corner of the state. She felt highly impressed that this movement is trying to cultivate basic values such as Commitment, Conviction, Character, Courtesy and Cheerfulness in the young Guides which is the need of Honor. She also assured full support to spread and expand this excellent material in all schools. Mtr. Sakina Bano Advisor J&K BS&G in her Presidential address lauded the role of the movement in order to prepare the young girls for life, to develop their character, to awake their spiritual adherence and to create the spirit of service and sacrifice in them. She assured that she would always be ready to lend her helping hand for the noble cause, this movement had taken. Shri. I. D. Soni State Commissioner (S)J&K BS&G, in his address said that the woman-soul has taken the Shakti to rebuild the shattered world in the strength of her institutions, her purity, her simplicity, her spiritual aspirations, her sympathy and silent Sacrifice.
