CCS Scouts conduct Tree Planting in local park
As part of our Urban Agricultural Project or UAP, I invited one of my fellowman Sct. Ethan Sia, to help plant in his local village park.
We also wanted to give back to our community and country, for the benefit of the citizens of the area.
We visited the local park of Sct. Ethan, after gaining permission from the local barangay (Local Government) in his area. We also included both of our fathers in this project.
During 2021, During the midst of the pandemic, I planted papaya seeds onto the ground, hoping to grow it into a seedling. I had also obtained an avocado seed, which grew into a seedling only after I placed it in a damp paper towel, which I then placed in a zip-lock for it to grow.
The local government commended us for reviving the local park, as not many are taking care of the park, and to see Scouts in it is a change.
Although the citizens of the village may not know it yet, but the seedlings we planted will grow into a tree, and that tree will help the community by filtering its air, and hopefully will give shade and bear fruit in the near future.
During this tree planting activity, I had learned that by working together, we will be able to achieve any goal especially with the guidance of God.
