From the ZOOM meeting held on 9th December 2020 , had explored activity to generate discussion with participants. We focused on knowledge about Myth and Reality to understand the concept of Gender Based Violence to the Participants. I Invited everyone to talk to the person next to them about things that they think are myths in their community. And also Is there a fictitious or historical character in the community whom everyone knows a story about & by giving them a couple of minutes to reflect & share their story about the topic. Asked the group why they think that people can sometimes hurt other people even if they say they love them? Asked them to think of some of the reasons and excuses that people might use. Noted down these reasons and add them to the list of reasons that everyone can see from our power point presentation . At the end of the session we had revisit those notes to re-affirm that ultimately there is no justification for violence. We also organized Myth games for the participants I asked participants what they understand with the term specifically: ‘victim-blaming’ & Wrote down key words of their responses that can help them create a simple definition for this term. Asked the group, where do we see victims being blamed? & who is blaming the victims? Most of the participants said : Acid Attack, Rape cases, Racism etc. We invited the group to read the online article mentioned in Activism pack & Asked everyone to make notes of any parts of the article that are related to victim-blaming. & also discussed my reflections and notes together in Power point presentation. Part : 2: Support Asked participants to close their eyes and explain that what they will read some quotes that girls and young women may hear. Asked the group to find different ways to create a human web Online by explaining that there are support networks that we have around us and that no person is alone, we are surrounded by people that care.
