The Davao del Sur Council of the Boy Scout of the Philippines conducted the 2017 Summer Advancement Camp from April 24-28, 2017 at Camp Col. Antonio C. Lanzar, Bagumbayan, Malalag, Davao del Sur with the main aim of inculcating in them the idea of personal progression by working personally their advancement. Scouts were subjected to the different activities required for the specific merit badge, undergone Merit Badge Counseling and Board of Review. As part of the activities, the Scouts were also oriented with the World Scout Environment Programme (WSEP) with the objective of orienting them the five (5) aims of the WSEP. Activities were conducted based on the different WSEP aims. The final action taken by the council was a Community Service through Coastal Cleanup. The Coastal Cleanup was conducted at the coastal area of Bagumbayan, Malalag, Davao del Sur where the main beneficiaries were the people living the coastal area of the barangay. The school, Col. Antonio C. Lanzar Elementary School, was also part of the beneficiary as the school located in the coastal area of the barangay.
