Recently, 1st Iskandar Puteri International SDG Camp was held on 22nd November 2019 till 26th November 2019 in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia. The purpose of this camp is to give exposure and provide a value-based educational platform to the youth based on various stage on the 17th Sustainable Development Goals which is carefully structured. A total of 350 participants throughout the primary and secondary schools in Malaysia and total of 1195 including the participants and the facilisators took part in the event. The participants were divided into groups of 10 which will instil leadership qualitiesand improve teamworks and their sociak networking. A few scouts from other NSOs (India, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Indonesia)  also joined the event to engage with the participants. They also gave lots of great inputs for us about the whole SDGs knowledge.

The camp consists of 3 stations; SDG,  Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Betterworld Framework.  The SDG station consists of 18 bases, each of the SDG themes and introduction to the SDG included. Throughout the whole journey, I was stationed  in the base 15 for the SDG station, which is the Life on Land theme as a base manager and I assisted the MOP and WSEP base for the Better World Framework station. All activities were conducted by youth from local universities and Institute of Teacher Education around Malaysia. Eventhough the activities were physically and mentally challenging, we really had fun and they learnt to trust each other and to give moral support when it is most needed. It was indeed an insightful experience.
