The Ngombe 2019 edition was a success.
From 27 to 30 December 2019, the Saint Georges group scout of Douala met with 30 young people all aged 12 to 20, accompanied by more than 20 other young people from the village, they took part in a lot of activities  under the theme "Zero Waste Eco Camp".

The eco-zero waste camp was the means by which the Saint Georges scout group in Douala contributed to the reduction of pollution.

It all started with the reduction of the carbon footprint which was carried out by reducing the carbon dioxide produced by the combustion of car engines and wood fires, the action that we carried out was on the market on foot and  bike from our respective house to go to the camp site and during the whole camp.
to sleep, since we don't have a modern tent, we prefer to sleep under the stars, rather than destroying nature to make traditional tents.
To compensate for the combustion of our cooking fires and our campfire, we planted a total of 28 trees throughout the vicinity of Ngombe village.
The food consisted solely of organic product purchased directly from local farmers.
All the waste from our camp was transformed into compost which was then offered to local farmers for use on their plantations.

It was a magnificent experience for us, the leaders of the Saint Georges group, the head of the camp and for all our campers.  
They gained knowledge, practical learning, living together and sharing with the community, they each contributed to reducing the carbon footprint and pollution.

We plan in the future to develop zero-waste activities in order to contribute to the reduction of pollution in our community and in order to make it clean and sustainable and thus create a better world.
