Ticket to Life – Bhagat Singh Scout Troop, Lucknow
The Bhagat Singh Scout Troop, part of the Ticket to Life (TTL) Project in Lucknow, continues to make a meaningful impact through diverse activities that foster leadership, community service, environmental awareness, and personal growth. The troop paid heartfelt tribute to Pandit Shri Ram Bajpai Ji, founder of Bharat Scouts and Guides, by participating in all-faith prayer ceremonies, offering floral tributes, and learning about his values and contribution to the scouting movement.
Focusing on health and well-being, the troop launched the “Fit Kids, Bright Future” initiative, introducing morning fitness games that promote physical activity, teamwork, and positive routines among children. The TTL team also works regularly in underserved communities, reaching out to children in slum areas to ensure inclusive education and development opportunities—reinforcing the principle that every child matters.
Environmental consciousness was highlighted through a tree plantation drive in a local park and a nukkad natak (street play) on the theme "पेड़ लगाओ, पेड़ बचाओ." These activities encouraged community members to take part in creating a greener, healthier future. The children creatively used drama and storytelling to inspire change.
The troop also celebrated World Scout and Guide Scarf Day with great enthusiasm. Under the guidance of District Organizing Commissioner (Guide) Mrs. Madhu Hanspal, the scouts learned the significance of the scarf, practiced various knots, and proudly wore scarves they hand-stitched themselves using recycled fabric—promoting sustainability and self-reliance.
A major highlight for the unit was the selection of several members to attend a State Trekking Camp in Sheetlakhet, Uttarakhand—a reward for their year-long dedication. This adventure provided the scouts with exposure, confidence, and memories that will shape their scouting journey for years to come.
Through every initiative, the TTL Bhagat Singh Scout Troop is not just building skills—it’s building future-ready citizens rooted in service, sustainability, and solidarity.
