My aim behind taking up the UPSHIFT program was to empower students to become confident problem-solvers and young changemakers. I wanted them to move beyond simply identifying problems and learn how to turn their ideas into practical solutions that can create a positive impact in their school and community.

I learned that students can develop creative and practical solutions when they are given the opportunity to explore real problems. As a facilitator, I also learned the importance of teamwork, patience, guidance, and encouraging students to think independently. Most importantly, I gained confidence in facilitating innovation and helping students turn their ideas into meaningful prototypes.

The UPSHIFT program involved Class IV and V students, teachers, and staff in a full-day session to learn the UPSHIFT process. Students worked in groups to identify problems, develop solutions, and created prototypeson following days. On 12 August 2026, seven projects were exhibited and assessed by three teachers, including the Principal, who ranked the projects based on their ideas and prototypes.
