Say No to SUPs: Awareness Drive at DHQ
As part of our commitment to environmental conservation and the Mission LiFE initiative, Scouts and Guides organized a "Say No to Single-Use Plastics (SUPs)" awareness campaign at the District Headquarters (DHQ) under the guidance of our District Organising Commissioner (DOC) Scout and Guide.
During the activity, participants displayed informative posters highlighting the harmful effects of single-use plastics on the environment, wildlife, and human health. Through creative messages and visual displays, the campaign encouraged people to adopt sustainable alternatives and reduce plastic consumption in their daily lives.
To further promote eco-friendly practices, cloth bags were distributed among visitors and community members. The Scouts and Guides interacted with the public, explaining the benefits of reusable bags and motivating them to replace plastic carry bags with environmentally friendly options.
The awareness drive received a positive response and helped spread the message of responsible consumption and environmental stewardship. The activity reinforced the importance of individual action in reducing plastic waste and protecting our planet for future generations.
Through this initiative, Scouts and Guides demonstrated their commitment to service, sustainability, and creating a cleaner, greener environment.
