Rediscovering Play, Reducing Screen Time
What inspired you to take up the project?
We were inspired by the growing concern that mobile phones were replacing real childhood experiences. We wanted to revive traditional play, promote social interaction, and support children’s physical and mental well-being.
What are the learnings you got from implementing this project and how would you make it better?
We learned that children truly enjoy traditional games and activities when given the chance. The project showed us the importance of teamwork, planning, and leadership, as well as the need to balance technology with physical play and social interaction.
Where was your project implemented and how did you execute it?
At Jampeling Central School, Scouts organized games, short meditation, and group activities to revive childhood joy, promote teamwork, improve physical health, and reduce mobile phone use with guidance from leaders and teachers.
