New President of the Cambodia Scouts

On December 4th, 2017, at an auditorium of the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, The opening ceremony of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Cambodia Scouts has been done and presided over by His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Vice-President of Cambodia Scouts. At that time, also includes Excellencies, Lok Chumteavs, Ladies and Gentlemen, who are the Scout Leaders from the national, municipal/provincial and city/district/khan levels, all over 495 on 590 voters in Cambodia. After completing for one full session, the Extraordinary General Meeting achieved the following outcomes; 1. unanimously approved to invite Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Ministers of the Kingdom of the Cambodia and his wife as the Chief Scout of the Cambodia Scouts 2. approved and appointed His Excellency Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, as the President of the Cambodia Scouts 3. voted to support the new key scout leaders of the National Scout Executive Committee of the Third Mandate as follows: a) His Excellency TAUCH CHOEUN as the Chief Commissioner; b) Mr. EM PISETH as the International Commissioner; c) Mr. KONG SOVANNARA as the National Adult Resources Commissioner; d) Mr. PRAK CHETRA as National Youth Programme Commissioner; e) Mr. CHHENG SARAN as Secretary; f) the EGM body also voted to select and recognize the new composition of the Capital/provincial Scout Councils and Municipal/District/Khan Scout Councils which reselected and appointed new chairmen. 4. unanimously approved on the amendment of Constitution & By-laws with following the recommendations of The WSC’s Constitutions Committee (CC) of WOSM by sending email letter dated 17 November 2017 5. approved the Strategic Plan 2018-2022 of the Cambodia Scouts, which focused on the Growth Perspective of 350,000 members in 2022. The Cambodia Scouts have developed and set new strategies with has 6 strategic pillars to guarantee success of Mission of the Cambodia Scouts in near future. The outcomes of the Review to date are important findings, from which Cambodia Scouts will develop a plan to stay relevant and attractive to young people for generations to come.
