Innovative Youth Solutions for a Circular Economy
Knowing and understanding our responsibility as young people in environmental conservation helps us in identifying environmental problems, and coming up with achievable solutions that address these problems accordingly. This however has to be done with understanding, to encourage sustainability and effectiveness of our positive actions towards a healthier planet.
As the Project Lead of the Blue Planet Warriors - a youth-led environmental conservation team focused on protecting & preserving Lake Victoria from plastic pollution, I guided my team in conducting an online session to share insight, define, explore and understand our responsibility as youths in environmental conservation, towards "Beating Plastic Pollution". The session brought together young people and environmental conservation teams, which saw a productive change-making session for a cleaner, healthier Lake Victoria.
We, as youths, adding to almost half the total number of the world's population, have a responsibility of ensuring that the earth is preserved, not because of a tomorrows' secured planet, but because it is everyone's responsibility to ensure we leave the world a better place than we found it.
