CLAP Awareness Drive at Tehsil Office
As part of the CLAP (Community-Led Action for Plastic-Free Environment) project, Scouts from DAV School organized an awareness drive at the Tehsil Office to promote the reduction of single-use plastic. The objective of the activity was to spread awareness among government employees, officials, and visitors about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and encourage sustainable alternatives.
During the visit, the Scouts interacted with office staff and explained how single-use plastic contributes to environmental degradation, harms wildlife, and creates long-term waste management challenges. They emphasized the importance of adopting eco-friendly habits in daily life, such as carrying reusable bags, water bottles, and containers.
To reinforce the message, the Scouts distributed cloth bags and encouraged everyone to minimize the use of plastic carry bags. The officials and employees appreciated the initiative and expressed their support for creating a cleaner and greener environment.
The awareness drive provided an excellent opportunity for young volunteers to engage with the community and inspire positive behavioral change. Through this activity, the Scouts learned that small individual actions can collectively make a significant impact on environmental conservation. The event successfully promoted the message of responsible consumption and strengthened the commitment towards a plastic-free future.
