#Active Global Citizen (Better World Tent) 7th ASJ Are your Actions contributing to the development of your community? Do you have time to research about whats happening around the world? Are you a responsible citizen? At the jamboree ,where diverse stations on M.O.P network activities and the better world programme. I personally was incharge of the Acitve Global Citizen (AGC) station. My station was moved with the passion of developing active responsible people in the world who consciously react to global issues and participate in meeting the world's challenges. Well AGC Station opened on the 3rd of Aug during the 7th Africa Scout Jamboree and many participants, on rotational basis, got an opportunity to learn more on how we can be a strong force of action towards the world's challenges. After commiting yourself to serving the world, you need to be to have a heart of precidence, thougtfulness for other people and be part of an ermerging world. Thanks to the jamboree organisers for allowing this programme to happen and as a facilitator i say it was worth it. Over 300 participants visited the Stand where we would sometimes play interactive and team building games to foster the spirit of working together. The effort banner became so popular as participants realised how much they were already doing in developing the world and how much they could do if everyone was an active global citizen. With some piecies of coloured strings and sticker paper, participants made some effort trails by sticking the string on written actions they felt were possible for one to be tagged a global citizen. Global citizenship is not a new animal in the system ,might you be Surprised. This has been and still is, the concept of the Better World three main programmes namely #Scout of the world Award #Messengers Of Peace and #World Scout Environmental Programme. Partaking in these programmes enable you to think globaly and act hence becoming an active global citizen. The effort banner also made participants realise how ideas and actions interlink or get joined in the virtual world thus, a global force is made. Bravooo to all who visited the AGC corner , your task now is to go Ahead and walk your ideas but dont forget to tell someone.
