Zambia Scouts celebrate Founder's Day in Style

Zambia Scouts Association last week brought together about 500 scouts to celebrate Founder's Day by planting trees in 10 different centres calminating in a grand commemoration graced by the Republican Vice President, Madam Inonge Wina on the 22nd February 2020 at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, in Lusaka.

The colourful ceremony took centre stage in the local media broadcasting the message of peace given by speakers at the event. Zambia is facing circumstances that have led to members of the public to take the law in their own hands and killing people suspected of spraying unknown poisonous chemicals in innocent people's homes.

The Chief Scout Commissioner, Mr. Wester Diangamo urged youths in the country particularly Scouts to stay away from being used by criminals for anything inhuman as the principles of scouting are based on humanity and brotherlyhood. He told Scouts to work with the government in helping communities to improve.

Her honour the Vice President Madam Wina said, "It is time for all of us to realize that the ball is in our hands to serve the earth, the earth containing everything we hold dear -- the laughter of our children, a quiet sunset, all the hopes and dreams of posterity for the future generations. Thus if we act together we win, we leave it to a few people we condemn our planet to doom and if we remember that, I’m absolutely sure we'll succeed".

She ended the day by calling on all Zambians join the scouts in planting more trees for our nation.
