WSEP Station at 1st Iskandar Puteri Sustainable Development Goals International Camp
On the 25th of November 2019, I led a team of 4 people to man the World Scout Environment Programme Base at the 1st Iskandar Puteri Sustainable Development Goals International Camp 2019. The 4 of us attended a Training of Trainers World Scout Environment Programme workshop not too long ago and used our knowledge as trainers to run the booth.
We managed to impact 68 secondary school participants from across the nation, as we spread awareness on biodiversity, balance of the ecosystem and effect of humans on natural food chains and food webs, as well as their habitats. We conducted the 'Creatures Conference' activity from the WOSM WSEP Resource Book and many of the participants demonstrated understanding of how humans' actions impact the environment and even commited themselves to reducing such practices.
Overall, the session was successful and many of the participants expressed their happiness and joy at the experience of experiencing the 'Creatures Conference' activity.
