The World Clean up Day is coincides with International Peace Day. The day has been well planned to make the global social action programme aimed at combating the global solid waste problem. This drive is to make the water bodies free of Plastic. The Launching programme of this drive has been conducted at Puri Coastal Beach on 21st Sept. The day was started with Pledge Taking for a Plastic Free Environment. 1500 Scouts/Guides have joined the programme. After the pledge they have been distributed in groups and some went for public awareness by distributing leaflets, showing posters and other groups have been taken the responsibility to clean the beach area. It was a remarkable step as more that 1000 youths have cleaned nearly 7km of beach area. The Launching programme has been meant to motivate all other youths of the state and it will be a continuous drive until the goal is achieved. The sdg 13 and 14 and 17 is partly achieved and within a year it will be achieved fully. In this drive other organisations such as Rotary, Red cross, and district administration have joined hands to create a better world.
