Workshop on Educational weekend for scout leaders

Workshop on Educational weekend for scout leaders

This weekend project is aimed at scout leaders of all age groups. Its goal is to educate leaders in various areas that cause them problems in their daily work with scouts, such as educational issues, working with specific groups of children and less well-known content topics. Within this weekend we will primarily organize a specific workshop, intended to educate group leaders how to effectively work with kids who they often call “problematic”. We want to achieve a mindset change that these kids are not in fact problematic, we just need to understand where they come from, their home environment, their family situation and adapt to their needs, not change them to fit our wishes. These kids often don’t have many chances in their young life and we need to adapt our approach with them so we can include them in the scouts movement with more success. Scout often claim that we are open to everybody so we want to achieve greater variety of methods used to work with “different” children so everyone can feel included in our movement. We would like to include more kids with special needs also who are often socially excluded, like kids with disabilities, with behavioural or emotional problems or from less than ideal social-economic background. We claim that we make the world a better place, so we want to start with creating more opportunities to marginalized kids and youth who maybe need activities like this the most.
