Woodbadge Leadership Course - Level 1 April 15, 2018, Desa Tunas Hijau, Kg. Sungai Pagar, WP Labuan LABUAN April 15 - Understanding the roles and responsibilities as a leader of the Scout is one of the main objectives in the Woodbadge Leadership Course - Level 1. This course is a qualifying scheme that must be attended by every member of a leader appointed to the position of Scout Master in their respective groups. respectively. A total of 14 people comprised of Scout Leaders from a school-based group such as SK Membedai, SK PAntai, Labuan International School (LIS) and a Scout Master from an Open Troop bringing the total number of participants to 16. The three-day two-night course was held at Desa Tunas Hijau, Kg. Sg. Miri WP Labuan was successful despite the presence of storm and rain. The participants' persistent through this valuable experience makes them more aware of the importance of planning a program in Scout activities by taking into consideration weather and situational factors that fit the current environment. The purpose of this course is to understand the meaning of scout philosophy. Learn and execute Grand Howl tradition and flag hoisting ceremony in an orderly manner. Understanding the types of badges, skills requirement in per scout scheme. in addition, explain and comprehend the duties and responsibilities of the Patrol Leaders and the understand the role and benefits of the Patrol System ability to assist in managing patrols and enhanced learning experience. "By attending such courses, It helps me acquired the relative skills according to the Training Scheme so that it can be practiced when conducting training for the scouts in my troop effectively. Having my tent filled with water is also my first experience during the camping due to the heavy downpour is certainly unforgettable and very interesting to be shared with families, relatives and students in particular, "said Md. Farihi Ab. Halim, one of the course participants who is also Headmaster of SK Membedai, WP Labuan. Level One from six parts of the overall Woodbadge Leadership Course was organized by the State Training Team. This was an extension from the Introduction Course held at SK Pantai on the recent 10 March 2018. Those who completed the training will be accorded with two wooden beads on leather straps. The woodbadge recipient is known as Wood Badger or Gilwellian. The closing ceremony was officiated by the State Chief Scout Commissioner, Skip Hong Heng Chee with the presentation of participation certificates and photography sessions.
