WONDERLAND 2016
The international scout camp "Wonderland 2016 Azerbaijan" held in Ganja 16-24 July was organized by the Association of Scouts of Azerbaijan with the financial help of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Ganja city is The European Youth Capital for 2016.
Second day of the camp the head of executive power of Ganja city Elmar Veliyev visited to a camp.
The first international Wonderland Scout camp was held in Sheki and the region turned to the traditional annual Scout camp.
And this year Scout has put its tent in Ganja, in the West of Azerbaijan. Children got new friends and acquaintance and improved their invaluable skills. Pioneering, Activities in the river, Orienteering, Archery, Hiking, Different Sports games, yoga , barrier strip, view to the centre of Ganja ,Ganja City Tours and other activities were carried out.
Besides Azerbaijanianian Scouts , also Scouts from Turkey ,Ukraine, Poland, Slovenia, Seychelles , Belorussia , Georgia, Bahrain , Egypt participated in the camp. "International Night" has been organized during the camp , so each country demonstrated its own inherent culture, clothing, food and lifestyle , reflecting the different attributes in the exhibition.
Slovenian team - members of the Treasures from a backpack project with the help of azerbaijani participants explored the problems of underprivileged youth, especially young refugees.They were using the method called Backpack journalism (hence the name). They were filming, taking pictures and writing about what they discover to share their experience online.
They also prepared workshops ,photografy workshop, night photografy, directing, script writing, backpack jurnalism, critical thinking etc. with Azerbaijanis, including a special evening of slovenian culture with some delicious specialities.
