Westville PS turning pages together

The Scouting-in-Schools team at Westville aimed to provide Scouts and learners with literacy skills and creative learning strategies, even in limited circumstances. Although some activities were not completed, the effort focused on fostering reading confidence and encouraging engagement with books, while emphasizing that reading can be both educational and enjoyable.
Activities completed included reading, storytelling, and creative exercises. Yeboneers guided Scouts through tasks designed to build literacy and comprehension skills while also focusing on teamwork.
The project highlighted the importance of adaptability and planning, showing that even partial implementation can offer value. Yeboneers learned strategies to keep learners engaged and creative, and how small interventions can make a difference in fostering reading habits.
