We need to talk
We need to talk is a project focused on mental and sexual health, we rather than seeking to define everything that comprises mental and sexual health, is to give enough tools for different children, youth, adolescents and adults can be clear about what happens to them and how they can take action for their welfare, and provide them with different routes, mechanisms and links if they ever need help, as well as seek to teach through learning by doing of the scout method.
The project manages 3 approaches to execute, one in which we educate ourselves with professionals on the different topics, another in which we generate transmedia content in social networks, and our main focus is to do activities through "Learning by doing" where children can learn about mental and sexual health through the scout method, and that it is a cross-cutting information to their ages.
The project has benefited different communities, both scouts and non-scouts, in such a way that we always seek to bring us closer, generating the need for a space where we can talk without taboo. We have to talk has resonated in more than 8 countries and we are currently in Colombia and Nicaragua, where we also had the opportunity to have a presentation at the thirteenth international congress of public health, leaving an open question to see if they were ready to talk without taboo everywhere.
So far in the project, we have learned a lot about mental and sexual health, as well as how to get closer to the different communities and also how to get to know our environment and ourselves.
