We are for Sumatran Elephant Conservation
This project supports the conservation of the Sumatran Elephant in Way Kambas National Park. The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Way Kambas National Park Authority, WALHI, and forestry students from Universitas Gadjah Mada who were conducting internships in the conservation area. The project aimed to conservation and sustainable ecosystem management and support wildlife conservation while raising awareness about protecting endangered species and their habitats.
Scouts and volunteers worked together to design a simple water filtration pipe system and water storage area to support water availability during the dry season. This system helps improve water distribution in the conservation area and supports wildlife habitats. Participants also learned about elephant ecology, habitat protection, and the importance of collaboration in conservation efforts.
The project strengthened cooperation between scouts, conservation institutions, and students while raising awareness about protecting endangered wildlife and managing natural resources sustainably.
Participants gained knowledge about wildlife conservation, ecosystem protection, and sustainable water management, as well as the importance of collaboration in protecting nature.
