Our pack decided that a great way to give back to our community was to do an urban hike along the popular waterfront trail and pickup garbage. Many people in our community enjoy the trail but unfortunately not everyone respects the environment. While trash cans are present most trash is just dropped where it posses a hazard to the environment and wild life. On our hike we collected 4 large bags of garbage. The youth felt a great sense of pride in their accomplishments, the Scouters were very proud of the youths efforts and enthusiasm and a few community members stopped and thanked us for our efforts.
